Gabriel Saloman | Beacon Sound Weekender | Oct 25-26

Gabriel Saloman will be kicking off a brief tour of the Pacific NW with shows in Oakland, Seattle and Vancouver. The first stop of the tour is an incredible weekend retreat of music, dancing, food and community presented by Beacon Sound at The Sou Wester Lodge in southern coastal Washington. Beacon Sound is a beautiful little record shop in Portland run by Andrew Neerman, an old friend and former member of the Intima (whose album was released a decade ago by Collective Jyrk). Beacon Sound will be releasing a collaboration between GMS and Peter Broderick in 2014. They’ve started a kickstarter campaign to raise funds to support this and future releases in connection with the Weekender event. Please donate if you can!

Two nights of music, food, and convivial spookiness at
The Sou’Wester…

Confirmed performers include Grouper, Gabriel Saloman, Rauelsson, and Peter Broderick.

There will be a big communal dinner on Saturday evening and a late-night ‘spooky’-themed dance party with DJs and a live set by Apartment Fox.

Cost will be Sou’Wester rates plus $40 per adult. Families are welcome and kids (12 and under) incur no surcharge. This $20/day will include all musical performances, intentional happenings, free beer and coffee, and at least one large communal meal on Saturday evening.

For those of you with small budgets, there are campsites available for $25/night, so you can attend for less than $100. It’s also possible to reserve an RV site as a group (4 people/2 tents/1 car) for $25/night.

How do you reserve a spot? Simply call the Sou’Wester after visiting their website and pay them the total amount (cost of accommodations + $40 per adult). Policies around cancellation etc will be in accordance with normal Sou’Wester guidelines.

Carpool connections will be facilitated.

Space is very limited; first come first serve.

Lastly, this will also be a kick-off of sorts for Beacon Sound’s first vinyl release as a label, featuring Peter Broderick + Gabriel Saloman. A Kickstarter campaign will be launched by the end of this week to fund this release (FYI at least one limited reward will include room/board/attendance at the Weekender) so keep your eyes peeled for that!
